Old World Revisited

I recently returned to a job I had completed 5 years ago in a private jewelry store that was expanding their space and requesting the same finishes as the original.  I've learned over the years to keep notes and leave glaze at the site for easier color matching years down the road. The main wall finish in the lighter color is a troweled old world plaster, the accent wall is a darker version, and the mirror frame and  stone mantel are oil glazed to add depth and age.
Just got a call this week to match a cabinet finish--(a 5-6 step process) that I originally finished 15 years ago.  Glazes are long gone at this point-- my clients had cleaned out storage long ago, and even I don't keep color records for that many years.  That one will be a challenge!  Update later!

Tween Dream

The in between years in a child's life are an interesting mix --not a child, not quite a teenager.  I recently completed a room for a delightful 12 year old .  She was very specific, picture included, of her dream bedroom.  The accent wall was stencilled in white over her favorite hot pink/fuchsia background, the remaining walls in Lavender.  I think the results are stunning!  Gotta love a client with a plan!
