Bright and Shiny

A bright and shiny New Year to everyone. The wish of a white Christmas came true---
with a bang--and now we all have hopes of a quick January thaw.

Speaking of bright and shiny-- I recently finished a great table in distressed silver leaf. Meticulously finished with hundreds upon hundreds of ultra thin sheets of real silver leaf, the project required a total "Zen" approach. Staying calm through the frustrations was indeed a challenge. The finish, applied to a new factory made table with good lines in a somewhat modern contemporary style, it benefited from a coat of black enamel underneath, some distressing, and an over glaze. The result brought in the clean modern lines that are so popular today, the "Mad Men approach" with soul.
Perfect for it's home, a light filled art gallery interior with select warm wood antique accents and contemporary art.
